Instructions and skills

Teach Puffle your team’s preferences and repeatable ways of working.

On this page

instructions set the context#

Open Settings → Instructions to add guidance that should apply across your workspace’s work. Explain stable preferences, naming conventions, or what a useful result looks like.

For example: “When writing a project update, start with completed work, then risks, then next steps. Keep the update under 200 words.”

Keep instructions focused and review them when your process changes. Do not store passwords, API keys, or other credentials here.

skills describe a procedure#

Open Settings → Skills to manage the workspace’s reusable procedures. Give each skill a clear name and a description of when it should be used, then explain the steps and the expected output.

A skill can describe how to prepare a launch brief or review a weekly report. It cannot grant access to a tool that has not been connected.

check the behavior#

Try the procedure on a small example in a new chat. Inspect the result and refine unclear steps. A preference in instructions is not a replacement for tool permissions.
